A new study made by Solidaridad analyzes 150,000 hectares of soy production in 22 municipalities in the MATOPIBA region – between the states of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia – and indicates the opportunities for reducing carbon emissions. The research was carried out in 50 farms and concludes that soy farmers can adapt agricultural practices, especially through the no-tillage system, and preserve areas of the Cerrado while keeping a profitable agricultural production.
